The music world is rife with young, female pop singers these days. If the Grammys are any indication, most of the good ones are British. One singer that was overlooked at this year's awards ceremony is continuing the phenomenon.
One of the highest forms of patriotism, aside from dissent of course, is military service. As George Orwell said, People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. But in America, if these rough men happen to love another man, they're not allowed to ensure our safety and liberty. President Obama initially said he planned on having this repealed, but changed his stance to a tentative we'll see. I'm about to say something that may shock some readers that may be faint of heart, so make sure you are sitting down. Are you ready for this? It does not make sense for the military to exclude non-closeted gays from military service. That's right; I'm coming out of the closet against Don't Ask
John Groce saw the Bobcats do things defensively against Western Michigan that they hadn't done all season. And they certainly weren't positive.
Ohio University administrators are considering using an outside group to compile faculty evaluations of deans, the provost reported Monday, triggering an unexpectedly fierce debate in Faculty Senate.

STEVE GARTNER (6-3) - OHIO 65, WMU 61 - My heart says Bobcats. My head says Broncos. We'll go with the heart since Valentine's Day is close.
I'm really glad The Post Editorial Board wrote the statement on Dean of the Russ College of Engineering Dennis Irwin's actions of punishing an aviation employee for gathering signatures to change a university policy.
The Athens County Commissioners discussed several amendments to the Athens County Accountability Plan proposed by County Auditor Jill Thompson during yesterday's meeting.

Have you ever been called for jury duty? It's like someone informing you that your destiny, the future waiting for you, is a boring job sitting around and judging people all the time.
it's something that other institutions have done for years.
The number three holds different meanings to Jenny Poff.
In reference to Lindsay Plocek's letter yesterday, I would like to say that sarcasm is not always very becoming. Yes, as dorm residents, we are paying at least $1,300 a quarter for the dormitory and the food that may or may not cause these bodily functions that Plocek's showers are spewed with. And, yes, we should expect a high level of cleanliness and upkeep maintained by University staff. But we should also hold ourselves responsible for care of the bathrooms. By residing in the dorms, we are all at least 17 or 18 years of age who have come to Ohio University to continue our education. Therefore, we must have all deemed ourselves mature and responsible enough to try our hand at managing the responsibilities and stresses that come with living away from home. If, at this age then, girls cannot flush a used tampon or rinse and wash away the results of their Friday and Saturday night fun, then I would not ask others to come step into [your] slippers and stalls
Twitter is a special kind of network. Though seemingly not as addictive as Facebook, Twitter rehabilitation can take weeks, I learned.
Please re-read the first word of your quote in the article Hypocrisy 101 regarding OU violating the first amendment. Congress is the first word. Maybe The Post editorial staff should be the ones taking POLS 101. OU is not Congress. Therefore, OU can, to some degree, do what they have been doing. I'm not on the side of OU administration, but this newspaper is the voice of the students. Your faulty argument makes us students look like idiots. Please be more cautious with the way you represent the opinions of the student body.
