Invest $5 million in clean energy, not harmful coal plant

Post columnist Cathy Wilson is right. The proposed AMP-Ohio coal plant in Meigs County is not a form of 'advanced energy.' In fact, I would argue no form of coal is advanced energy. In addition to the $30 million low interest loan the state of Ohio could be giving AMP-Ohio for building this plant, the Ohio Department of Development is considering granting $5 million to AMP-Ohio. That money could be going to fund dirty, exploitive, near-sighted coal.

Your Turn: Illicit drug use can lead students to early grave

I was disturbed several weeks ago when I read in The Post that there was an increase in illicit drug abuse at OU. This is sad. Many good lives have been destroyed by drug abuse and many a young life has been taken because of it. Drugs are bad news. I lost my brother because of a cocaine overdose. Young students drink and combining that with popping pills can send you to the hospital or an early grave. Alcohol is fine in my opinion, but experimenting with illicit drugs can be deadly. My advice is to stick to the alcohol and leave the hard stuff alone.
