Post Haste: No legal weed in Ohio (for now?); OU student loses bid for Athens City Council

Issue 3 failed last night.

Good morning. Here's what you need to know for Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015:

Joints down, folks. Joints down.

Last night, Issue 3, which would have made recreational pot legal in Ohio, failed — and it wasn’t even close.

With more than 75 percent of precincts reporting last night statewide, only roughly 35 percent of voters gave a thumbs up to the measure, which would have granted the right to grow weed commercially to 10 farms.

Even Athens County, long known as a hotspot for pot, struck down the measure by around the same margin.

The score was worse elsewhere.

In early voting, rural Seneca County didn’t cast a single vote in favor of Issue 3, the Columbus Dispatch’s Randy Ludlow reported.

Even if the initiative would’ve passed, Ohio University students probably wouldn’t have been able to keep marijuana in their dorm rooms, nor would they have been able to smoke on campus.
