Good Morning,

In light of Halloween, The Post asked a question you might’ve wondered: What’s it like to live at The Ridges?

The answer is, well, it’s pretty normal.

Four cottages located just yards away from the institution formerly known as the Athens Mental Health Center play host to newly-hired faculty members. And some people who’ve lived there said they didn’t notice anything supernatural, but one former tenant said his babysitter didn’t take so kindly to the situation:

“When she would babysit and we weren’t there, she was a little scared,” Bernhard Debatin, a journalism professor at OU, said. “She would go all around the house and pull down the shades and make sure the house was locked. She found it weird, I assume mostly because of the reputation The Ridges have.”

The cottages used to serve as housing for staff members of the psychiatric hospital.
