Faculty rallies for a better work environment
Mar. 6, 2024On March 5, 2024, Ohio University faculty rallied for a union at Ohio University, United Academics of Ohio University, on College Green. Faculty from all Ohio University campuses came together to share their experiences and voice their opinions on why a union is needed for Ohio University faculty. The rally ended with the group members delivering a letter of unionization at the President's office.

MAC Swimming and Diving Championships 2024
Mar. 3, 2024Ohio swimming and diving competed in the 2024 MAC Championships at the Ohio University Aquatic Center in Athens, Feb. 27 through March 2. The team finished 3 overall with two individual MAC Champions, Zita Szoke in the 200 Free and Casi DiBetta in both the 100 Yard Breast and the 200 Yard Breast. Feb. 27, 2024Ohio wrestling took on Buffalo during their last dual meet of the season in The Convo. The Bobcats’ lost 9-27 with wins from Peyten Kellar, Sal Perrine and Jordan Greer.

Ceasefire rally held before City Hall
Feb. 20, 2024Prior to Monday's city council meeting, a demonstration calling for Athens to back a ceasefire in Palestine was staged outside the Athens City Building. During the meeting, the Athens City Council decided on a resolution that would demand and encourage a ceasefire and de-escalation in Gaza from state and federal leaders. Around 25 residents of Athens and students from Ohio University came to the demonstration in support of withdrawing American forces from Gaza and in mourning for the deceased. The Biggest Cover Up Comes to Town
Feb. 18, 2024The Union hosted the annual The Biggest Cover Up Fundraiser for the Athens County Humane Society on Feb. 17 and 18, 2024. Local bands partook in this fundraiser, covering bands such as Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys and ABBA.
