Although 420 Day can seem like a joke to those who do not use cannabis products, there are many wonderful ways that cannabis can aid in improving one’s quality of life. Not all of these benefits are 100% proven; however, many people and healthcare professionals claim that there are potential health benefits of cannabis. While the use of cannabis may not work for everyone, there are many products on the market for newcomers to experiment with and find what works for them best. When it was first announced that an Illumination-produced Mario Bros. movie starring Chris Pratt as the titular protagonist was underway, audiences did not have high hopes. Given Illumination’s track record for annoying and cheap kids’ movies that were mediocre at best and Pratt’s track record for being the worst Chris, it wasn’t looking good at first glance.

I’m sure you’ve heard in some form that three children and three adults were fatally shot at a school in Nashville on Monday, March 27. It took over all news stations and social media platforms, and rightfully so. You’ve likely also seen the social media posts with the frightening statistic that there have been more mass shootings than days in 2023. According to the Gun Violence Archive, as of March 27, we have racked up 128 mass shootings in 86 days.

Indie folk quartet The National Parks has returned with their fifth full length album “8th Wonder,” which picks apart love against the backdrop of the outdoors. The group is no stranger to this, with much of their brand surrounding an extremely outdoorsy-style chock full of natural imagery, often the mountains and landscapes of the American West, which the Utah-based group originates from.

Four years after “Shazam!” surprised audiences with its light and witty take on a superhero origin story, “Fury of the Gods” continues the first film’s legacy with a fun expansion of its characters and story. In the first film, teenage foster child Billy Batson (Asher Angel) is visited by a mysterious wizard (Djimon Hounsou) and granted the ability to change into a superpowered alter ego, Shazam (Zachary Levi). After a run-in with an evil scientist wanting the powers for himself, Billy then grants the same powers to the other children in his home, defeating the enemy and breaking the magic staff that gives and takes the powers away.

The cast and crew that worked on the Harry Potter movie series are to the best of my knowledge not transphobic, but J. K. Rowling is transphobic and that is wrong. Despite this, Rowling’s transphobia is independent from the work that the cast and crew put into the eight-movie series.

Hailing from Amityville, Long Island, De La Soul is one of the most acclaimed and influential hip-hop acts to ever do it. Composed of high school friends Posdnuos, Maseo and the late great Trugoy the Dove, De La Soul burst onto the scene in the late 1980s with a series of pop-appealing singles accompanying their debut album, “3 Feet High and Rising.” Over the next decade, they would become a cornerstone of the Native Tongues collective, alongside other legends such as Queen Latifah, The Jungle Brothers and A Tribe Called Quest, as well as pioneers of alternative hip-hop’s jazzy, upbeat nature.

On Aug. 4, 2022, “Planet Her” creator Doja Cat grabbed a pair of hair clippers, took them to her head and shaved all her hair off. Shortly after, she took to Instagram live and gave her eyebrows the same treatment. This proved to be the start of a new era for Doja Cat, as she quickly began to don more artistic, less conventional makeup looks and outfits.
