The city is no stranger to its canine counterparts who roam up and down Court Street, and Friends of the Shelter Dogs, or FOSD, ensures all of them are taken care of and sent to welcoming homes.

In college athletics, it is imperative that teams have leadership in the locker room, on bus rides and at practices. Those leaders act as secondary coaches who assist the team by advising and showing some younger athletes how to properly function as college athletes. In wrestling, Ohio has experienced a renaissance with two of its most successful wrestlers, providing the lessons passed down to them to the next crop of wrestlers.

College wrestling has never been a sport for the faint of heart. The difficult weight programs, strenuous competition that comes in waves and having to keep up with academics are just a few of the roadblocks that would make most ordinary people throw in the towel. One of the most unnoticed aspects of sports, especially collegiate sports, is travel. For Ohio wrestling, travel is one of the aspects that can make or break an athlete.

Last week, Fall Out Boy and fans of the band celebrated the 15th anniversary of the band’s fourth studio record, “Folie à Deux” which translates to “A Madness Shared by Two.” The album was first released Dec. 10, 2008 in Japan with more release dates throughout the week in Australia (Dec. 13), the U.K. (Dec. 14) and the U.S. (Dec. 16).

The Athens drag scene is one that simply cannot be ignored. Four different drag queens came together at The Union Bar, located at 18 W Union St., on Thursday evening for the “Queens for Seams” drag show, put on by Thread Magazine. The show was undeniably one that everyone could enjoy, with queens Rayley Saphron, Judy Chiffon, Viola Braider Knights and Athena Raynn headlining the show

Across Ohio University’s campus, waste bins are labeled as “landfill” or “recycling.” Walking up to the two bins, one decides where the waste will go. One problem with sending waste away to landfills is that once it’s out of sight, the next steps are out of mind for many.

Recently, I acquired my first job where there were no uniforms, or any dress code at all, for that matter. I was able to dress however I wanted, and as someone who loves fashion, the thought of being able to put together fun outfits for my job actually made me look forward to my shifts, and trust me when I say that I am not someone who likes to work.
