It has become increasingly evident that there is a divide within the structure of college football, as student-athletes and NCAA executives are not in agreement with how athletes are treated.

I’ll start by saying this: I didn’t “find myself” in college, and you probably won’t either.
Tuesday marked the second and third of the White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault’s public listening sessions. Responding to 2014 statistics that show one in five women will be raped during her college years, as well as “a substantial number of men,” and that only 12 percent of student victims report the assault to law enforcement, President Barack Obama commissioned an interagency task force charged with developing “a coordinated federal response to campus rape and sexual assault.”
Since the passage of Roe v. Wade on Jan. 22, 1973, more than 50 million abortions have been performed in America. However, according to a recent Washington Post report, the country’s abortion rate is the lowest it has been since 1973 and I am so glad, because I am an anti-abortion feminist.
As an integrated social studies education major, I have taken a number of history courses, and there seems to be a common denominator about most of the classes in the department:

President Barack Obama visited my home state of Michigan last week to do something I haven’t seen him do in a while: sign into law a significant bill that wasn’t related to a self-inflicted crisis, like the budget impasse of 2013, and was passed by a Democratic-controlled Senate and a Republican-controlled House.
Some days, you just want to be more than one person.

Perhaps it’s time to make some cuts to Intercollegiate Athletics and make the division more student-centered.
