Tech Costs

Students at Ohio University are constantly logging on to the university’s wireless network and pounding away on various keyboards throughout campus, but personal costs vary depending on a student’s college.

Post Letter: Kane right for sheriff morally, professionally

After a recent attack on the character of Steve Kane, I felt compelled to voice my full support of him for sheriff. I have known him for a number of years both personally and professionally.  He is a man of sound moral character, honest, filled with integrity, and is someone in whom I can place my complete trust. He is highly qualified, dependable and takes seriously his oath to care about our safety. He has dedicated his life to cleaning up the streets and protecting the public. And to see the accusations made against him with blatant disregard for the truth saddens me. I can attest to his character because I am his neighbor and his personal friend. I know him as a man who is completely aboveboard and fair, who cares deeply for you and the safety of your family, and who lives his life using Godly principles.

Post Letter: A third-party vote is not a waste of effort

I’m voting for Jill Stein, the Green Party presidential candidate, in a swing state. A lot of people have told me I shouldn’t, and most of their reasons have been the same. I’d like to respond to the ones I hear the most, as I think they prevent a lot of people from considering third-party candidates who better represent their views than Democrats or Republicans.

Post Letter: Abe Alassaf the 'honest' choice for treasurer

I just want to write a letter to the editor today to voice my support for Abe Alassaf for county treasurer. Abe, though young, I feel would be — like he has been saying — the “honest” choice. His opponent Bill Bias is a career politician who has used his other elected positions to benefit his private-sector employment. Now he wants to be in charge of the county’s money! That is cause for alarm to me, and I feel that anybody who has paid attention to local politics during the past five or six years would feel the same.
