Post Letter: Student-trustee vote a victory for young voices

When I lost the Student Senate election last Spring Quarter with my political party, FACE, I was inconsolable for quite some time. Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi, characteristically optimistic and sagely, suggested that I continue fighting for the student issues I believed in despite my loss.

I’m an alum from way back, who also happens to be a season ticket holder of football. I travel down from the northeast corner of the state for the home games and often go to support the teams (football and others) at their games at Akron, Kent State and Buffalo when I can.

City Council works to improve bicycle parking

On the eve of elections and at the tail end of both Council President Bill Bias and Councilwoman Nancy Bain’s 20-plus year careers, Athens City Council focused on improving citywide bicycle parking, as well as long overdue sewer repairs.
