Awards office changes location, gains new leadership

As students moved to Athens this fall, Ohio University's Office of Nationally Competitive Awards was also making a move - relocating its offices from the Honors Tutorial College house on Park Place to the Faculty Commons on the third floor of Alden Library.

This past Monday, I celebrated a national holiday recognized in both Spain and the United States: Columbus Day. On this day, called Fiesta Nacional, the Spaniards celebrate both Christopher Columbus' discovery of America in 1492 and the unification of Spain in the same year.

Post Letter: Faculty could be more efficient using new technology

Steve Reilly, professor of biological sciences, is calling for Ohio University to increase its full-time faculty to match enrollments. Given how universities have long delivered education, his call is not unreasonable. However, it may be time for OU, and all universities for that matter, to rethink their model of delivery when it comes to undergraduate education in particular. A recent book titled What Would Google Do? suggests that the answer to that question may not be long in coming.
