Fashion don't-unisex tracksuits

Monday, I had an interview with a company that turned out to be elitist. But even before I knew this, I was turned off by the required uniform. Remember those horrible monochromatic track suits of the eighties? The ones that swished when you walked? Think that - in red white and blue with sexless polo shirts and all white orthopedic like tennis shoes. Each employee looked like a depressed American flag. I suggest that instead of wearing the flag, we should honor the idea of it, freedom ' in this case ' of fashion.

FundingEdu

The XFL. Pepsi Blue. Communism. Sometimes things that sound great on paper turn out less successful in practice. Enter AlcoholEdu, the infamous alcohol education program and required reading for thousands of incoming freshman every year at universities nationwide. The online course is on unsteady ground at Ohio University as administrators scramble to find $40,000 to support it another year. Your Turn: Publishing both sides of stories is necessary

In regards to Natasha Raquel Bush's April 22 response to Emily Glauser's column on marijuana, I would kindly like to inform Ms. Bush a little something about journalism and the Code of Ethics. According to the Society of Professional Journalists, public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues. Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. It is a journalist's duty to seek truth and report it. The truth is marijuana use is prevalent among many students at Ohio University. To turn our backs on this issue merely for the sake of saving the reputation of the school would be a biased decision and a severe blow to the field of journalism.

In today's popular music, the influx of trendy indie pop was sweet at first but soon became sickeningly annoying. However, one such band, The Kooks, is a group that I can still manage to easily stomach.

Your Turn: Athens' animal programs deserve recognition

The Friends of the Athens County Dog Shelter has done an amazing job of finding unwanted dogs loving and permanent homes. They have been advertising adoptable dogs and have created more awareness of animal welfare issues. This group's members are really angels to the animals they rescue and should be praised by the community.
