WASHINGTON -Exhaustive investigations turned up nothing to disqualify John R. Bolton from becoming U.N. ambassador, and he should be given the post quickly, a top Republican said yesterday as the Senate opened debate on the long-delayed nomination.

Firearm precautions could ease concerns

I am writing today about the Ohio House Bill 91, which the Ohio University Student Senate opposes as stated in the May 19th edition (Senate opposes concealed guns). Although I do not agree with the senate's position that allowing weapons on campus will make the school more dangerous, the body does bring up a few interesting points about students who are disliking of firearms having to live with people who have potential weapons.

BAGHDAD, Iraq -A car bomb exploded next to a U.S. Army convoy in Baghdad yesterday, killing three soldiers, and another American died in a drive-by shooting a half-hour later. Their deaths pushed the number of U.S. troops killed in three days to 14, part of a surge in attacks that have also killed about 60 Iraqis.
