Football: Homecoming win takes 'Cats to Top 25

As Fall Semester surpassed its midpoint and students supplemented their study schedules with a Homecoming celebration during the weekend, Ohio gave them another reason to smile Sunday by breaking into the Associated Press Top 25.

Akron enters Peden Stadium for the Homecoming tilt against Ohio. The Bobcats lost to Ball State 23-20 in this past year’s Homecoming game. The Zips are under new management and are now led by Terry Bowden, whose offensive scheme led by senior quarterback Dalton Williams has generated 33 points per contest.

Howard regains form on pitch after injury

A collective silence fell over the crowd at Chessa Field Oct. 16, 2011 during Ohio’s match against Bowling Green. Then a junior, Ohio defender Paige Howard went to defend a ball played over the top and as she ran back toward Ohio’s goal, she collided with Ohio keeper Nicole Amari and a Falcon forward, taking a knee to the mouth.
