9 reality TV shows to take your mind off midterms

Nothing can be more relaxing than turning on some trash TV. Seriously, curling up with some junk food and watching the Kardashians for eight hours is an underrated way to spend a weekend. When midterms come around, almost everyone is stressed and needs some alone time. Here are nine reality TV shows to take your mind off of tests and projects and focus on other people’s lives for a little while:

1. Jersey Shore — Hulu

Take a break from that 10-page paper you have to write and watch Snooki and the group fist pump in Karma. You might not learn anything you can apply to your studies, but you might pick up some new lingo like “landmine” and "G.T.L.”

2. The Real Housewives — Hulu

Every Real Housewives spin-off is completely immersive. Whether you’re watching NeNe Leakes spill some tea on The Real Housewives of Atlanta or Lisa Vanderpump and her hundreds of pets on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, you’re guaranteed to be entertained.

3. Dance Moms — Hulu

For some reason, watching crazy moms of young dancers argue with each other and Abby Lee Miller, the most intense coach of all time, is extremely entertaining.

4. Queer Eye — Netflix

Netflix’s reboot of Queer Eye is quickly becoming one of the streaming service’s most popular shows. It’s feel-good and you will definitely watch all eight episodes in one day.

5. My Strange Addiction — Hulu

My Strange Addiction is unlike no other show on TV. Viewers get to experience what it’s like for people to be addicted to eating things like tires and cat fur. It’s definitely a go-to to take your mind off of your own problems.

6. Long Island Medium — Hulu

This TLC series is highly underrated. Theresa Caputo does everything in her power to help people communicate with their dead loved ones. Whether or not she’s legit is up in the air, but it makes for good TV.

7. Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars — Hulu

There’s no better way to waste your time than watching your favorite reality TV show celebs compete in challenges to save their marriages. It’s like reality TV show inception and should be appreciated as such.

8. Million Dollar Matchmaker — Hulu

Candace Smith and Maxwell Billieon do their best to help wealthy clients find love. It’s kind of like Queer Eye except harsher and the clients are definitely out there.

9. The Great British Baking Show — Netflix

This is the best show to watch when you’re sick. It’s mesmerizing to watch people make intricate sponge cakes all day long. It’s a perfect way to relax after a long day of studying.
