Dear Editor,
We’re not exactly sure who first suggested telling everyone we knew that Ryan Maxin and Claire Schiopota were related. Claire might’ve jokingly said it while the two sat in her dorm room on the third floor of Washington Hall during the Spring Semester of their freshman year. Ryan probably laughed along and one-upped the joke somehow. It was soon decided that the joke would become a reality.
While preparing for my study abroad experience in Leipzig, Germany, I received some sage advice from my uncle: don’t forget the study part. Love was certainly in the air when I visited Ohio University on Valentine's Day in 2020. OU was the only school I had applied to at that point, and as sappy as it sounds, I knew it was the school for me as soon as I took a step on the bricks of Athens.

Two things play as I write this column: the roaring of my AC and a fiddle in the deepest core of my mind. It's time to come to peace with leaving the place I love. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure at Ohio University’s Office of Sustainability’s Rebike Program. The Program was part of a series of events in celebration of Earth Day on Tuesday, continuing the tradition of celebrating “Earth Day Every Day.” In efforts to promote the reuse of long-lasting products such as bicycles, the ReBike Program is a good start to practice being environmentally friendly.
I’ve always been someone who likes to keep busy and is always looking for the next thing. College was the perfect place for my on-the-go energy. As it finally comes to an end, I stand still as the pain of leaving sets in.
