A time when Rod Stewart was cool

Rod Stewart has become a whipping post among rock music circles today, and for good reason. As if his disco-inspired heyday in the 80s were not bad enough, with his spiked hair, leather pants, and leopard-skin jackets, Rod has made a comeback recently by killing American standards like It Had To Be You and Blue Skies. And yes, even in his ripe old age of 63, he's still trying to be sexy.

Your Turn: Survivors speak out against clergy abuse

This past weekend, survivors of clergy abuse handed out leaflets at nine Steubenville parishes, including Athens' Christ the King. It was an eye-opening experience for us. We were treated very badly by many Catholics and we were told to leave the property by some of the priests. It was sad to see so many who believe that we are here to destroy their church. But there were many who welcomed us and took our information. We are only concerned about the safety of kids and with making the truth be known. The message on our leaflet is posted below:

This year already has brought several firsts in my life. For the first time I am renting my own house, paying bills and making weekly trips for groceries and house supplies. The biggest first of all, however, is that I am responsible for making all my meals. Prior to living in my little abode on Franklin Ave., I never had imagined that balancing schoolwork and domesticity could be so challenging.

OU professors, students support Chinese orphans

An Ohio University professor and student organization are working to set up children who lost their parents during the Wenchuan earthquake last May with a big brother or big sister.
