The Difficult Dialogues program was started at Ohio University this fall to encourage students to discuss issues of race, sexuality and religion.-
Your choice to identify and print the picture of the person who attempted suicide was not professional and a great disservice to that individual. What good does printing his name and picture do for society? His life has enough traumas without his picture and name being strung up on the front page of a newspaper. Your decision to publish excerpts of his suicide letter defies comprehension and taste.

I hate to write again so soon, but The Post is out of control. I hope someone can read this and reconsider the direction of a newspaper that is part of my university.
As I read through columnist Alissa Griffith's column on Wednesday, I had to convince myself that I had not been transferred overnight to Oral Roberts University without my knowledge. Ms. Griffith comments, There are those who have insisted that the concept that every living creature is the product of some incredibly unrealistic coincidence (a.k.a. evolution) be stuffed down young throats in public schools. Ohio University needs to develop research projects that involve faculty from multiple disciplines to increase its graduate funding, said the final candidate for vice president for Research and Creative Activity and dean of the Graduate College in an open forum yesterday.
I am glad The Post recently published a column challenging evolution; it's been a few years since we've had that debate, but I'll bite. Which articles, specifically, have you seen lately which refute God? Typically, the scientific method only aims to refute things that are falsifiable ' the claim of a creator deity is non-falsifiable and non-scientific, and therefore it would be a waste of research funding to attempt to refute God. A lot of research, however, is done studying processes like evolution (these become handy as bacteria evolve to be more resistant to different types of antibiotics, for example).

Athens might be getting its first strip club. Some are opposed to the idea, but the controversy has not only revolved around some citizens' dislike of such a venue; it has also been whether or not the proposal for the strip club has been legitimate. Athens residents have been asking that question since it became known that someone had applied to put a strip club on Stimson Avenue, where the New-To-You Shoppe used to be.
Quintana Ward is from Park Forest, Ill., so the shooting on the campus of Northern Illinois struck close to home for her.
I read with great interest Dean Dennis Irwin's letter published Feb. 18th. As a former Ohio University student and Post associate editor, my tenure spanned the time from when the plagiarism in the college of engineering was discovered up to the time the university finally started to seriously deal with the situation.
Inside the Ohio Aquatic Center, there are nine total Mid-American Conference Championship banners, all of which are starting to fade. Even the most recent one from 2001 has turned grayish, and it appears as if it's time for a new one.
Ohio University named an interim executive director of University Communications and Marketing on Monday.
Students and Athens residents will be able to share their concerns about a study that found serious vulnerabilities in Ohio's voting systems at Baker University Center today, said an Ohio Secretary of State representative.
While reading Wednesday's opinion section, one word humbly flashed through my head, only to be annihilated upon reading Miss Alissa Griffith's misguided work of evangelism. This word was integrity.
After an ugly first half in which neither Ohio nor Bowling Green shot the ball well, the Bobcats weren't too discouraged. Despite getting open looks, they shot a dismal 31 percent from the field, but they doubted the drought would last much longer ' and they were right.
