When “Five More Minutes” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi, were in the mountains. They popped a bottle of champagne at midnight when it was made official and “sprayed it like we won the World Series,” McCreery said.

Pioneering alternative-rock band Arctic Monkeys has finally released its new album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. Released on Friday, the album follows 2013’s AM, which received both critical and fan praise. With the band’s new album, Arctic Monkeys changed its sound. Stepping away from their signature alt-rock vibes, Tranquility Base is funky and even a bit retro. In fact, the album seems to feature very little guitar.

Kendrick Lamar – arguably the best rapper of this generation – just won a Pulitzer for his 2017 album DAMN. You inevitably had a friend who shared something about it on social media if you aren’t in tune with Pulitzer Prizes. But what’s really cool is that this is the first time a hip-hop album has won. What is even cooler is that this is the first time any genre that isn’t classical or jazz has won.
