When I first moved to Ohio University, it was cold. It was snowing because I could not go “in person” until January, but luckily my mask helped keep my nose and mouth a bit warm. The path to the person I became throughout my four years here seemed farther than the walk up Jeff Hill at the time; I could not even imagine her. Now I sit here so incredibly grateful for every experience I’ve shared, treks up the hills included.

In an article published March 3 covering a local vigil held in honor of Nex Benedict, Post staff published multiple errors. We pride ourselves on equitable and accurate coverage, and the fact that this was not consistent for this event is inexcusable.

Gigi De Buselle wore a crown of roses when she was crowned Ohio University’s 1964 Homecoming Queen. De Buselle was born in Germany but hailed from Cleveland, and Saturday, Oct. 24, 1964, she hoisted a trophy during the homecoming football game against Miami.

According to the National Library of Medicine, one in five veterans lives alone, and 57% of veterans reported feeling lonely at least some of the time. Holidays like Thanksgiving can be difficult for former members of the armed forces. William Nobrega is one of 3,255 veterans in Athens County, and he wants to support as many fellow veterans as possible.

This weekend, the annual Athens Block Party will welcome students and community members alike to flood Court Street dressed as the mythical, popular, niche and mystic. However, one thing will be missing from last year’s programming. Among the costumes and makeup, drag performances did not return to this year’s lineup.

One famed example of this divide is Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1886 novel “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” The dark story investigates the balance between outward good and evil nature, but this weekend, the Lost Flamingo Theater Company has added a new twist to the serious tale: comedy.
