Netflix's "Do Revenge" offers a fun, updated rendition of Alfred Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train," though instead of being a noir thriller, it takes a modern approach and turns it into a dark comedy. It is a worthy modern teenage film for a newer generation of adolescents with a star-studded cast, clever plot and remarkable soundtrack. As for most teenage films today, it takes the usual teenage tropes but adds a level of self-awareness needed to cultivate younger audiences.

Disney has done it again, adapting one of its all-time classics into a live-action film that no one particularly asked for. Disney’s attempt to recreate the solid, wholesome story of “Pinocchio,” gets lost in translation, failing to be worthy of anything besides its story. Since the puppet is known for not having its strings attached, this film should be known for the same thing, not having anything to pull it up on its own.

It's been several decades since Elvis Presley left the building, but now the "King of Rock and Roll" has returned in this bold and flashy biopic sharing the story of one of the most noticeable musicians of all time. Whether warranted or not, this biopic embodies director Baz Luhrmann's distinct style, which is certainly flashier than ever. Even though the film possesses a strong visual fascination, it fails to possess true direction or an honorable storyline of the famous musician.

It’s been almost three years since the last season was released, with the fourth season being pushed back a year because of the pandemic. Netflix released yet another sequel that nobody asked for with their extremely problematic Fifty Shades of Grey clone, 365 Days: This Day. To say expectations were high would be an understatement, but low expectations were definitely met. Netflix made quite the payoff as the first installment grew popular after its release in 2020; it intrigued viewers with its problematic plot and sexual antics. In an attempt to gain back a loss in revenue, Netflix will continue to sell sex to its viewers with this intense, erotic thriller sequel.

A lot of these novels are either being released during this set year or are in the early stages of development. After acting for over 40 years, actor Bruce Willis’ legendary career had sadly come to an end after his diagnosis of aphasia. The disorder is an impairment that impacts the production or comprehension of speech, which was noticeably starting to affect his work in more recent years. At the age of 67, he has appeared in over 100 movies, making him a staple to the movie industry, even though he is often unacknowledged. He went his whole career without a single Oscar nomination, only obtaining a handful of Golden Globe nominations.

In the midst of several reboots being done by Disney’s streaming platform, Cheaper By the Dozen is one of the dozen movies being rebooted. There have been many establishments of the original novel made in 1948, but this newly released reboot mostly resembles the adaptation made in 2003, starring Steve Martin. Disney’s new adaptation of the story is substantially useless but offers the retelling with an interracial family, one of the only good qualities of this messy remake.

Pixar’s new animated release Turning Red is quite possibly one of the best films Pixar has released in recent years. Through its unique metaphorical concept, the movie has the ability to be influential and touching. Additionally, Turning Red incorporates an array of essential and relatable messages throughout the film. It’s monumental in the sense that Pixar is finally pushing their boundaries to becoming more relatable to their audiences.
