Ohio (5-5, 3-2 Mid-American Conference) will start off a stretch of home duals by hosting two conference opponents, Central Michigan and Bloomsburg. The two duals will be the first time that the Bobcats are in The Convo since Jan. 5.
The Bobcats won’t have to worry about travel expenses for the rest of the regular season. After having only two home duals over the span of nearly three months, Ohio will spend the rest of its season in the more comfortable capacity of The Convo.
Ohio had a chance to even out its record at SIU-Edwardsville after a disappointing start to its season. When the Bobcats led 15-9 with just two matches left on the day, they only needed one more wrestler to win in order to clinch a victory. Hunter Yeargan did even more than what was needed of him when he pinned Jake McKiernan to give Ohio a 21-9 lead.

Ohio Wrestling (2-5 overall, 0-2 Mid-American Conference) will have two chances to earn its first conference dual victory of the season against Kent State and Cleveland State this weekend. The Bobcats will be on the road for both duals on Friday and Saturday after falling to conference opponent No. 21 Missouri on Jan. 10.
Ohio’s second Mid-American Conference matchup was likely going to be its most difficult of the season. No. 21 Missouri hadn’t lost to a conference opponent since 2017, and three Tigers were ranked in their respective weight classes.
Ohio went into its last tournament of 2019 following a victory over West Virginia just over one week prior.
