When people think of sections within newspapers and publications, usually the news staff is the first come to mind. Maybe even the culture or lifestyle section comes to mind. Nevertheless, no publication would be complete without its handy-dandy sports staff.

Halloween is quickly approaching and though COVID-19 is restricting the typical festivities, the holiday is still something to celebrate. We’ve just passed the midpoint of the Fall Semester at Ohio University. Unlike any semester before, this fall has been filled with adjustments, disappointments and necessary precautions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Students have had to adapt to virtual classes, but despite the change in atmosphere, burnout is still a real thing among many students.

Diving into the broad idea of a concept album, California-based alternative band The Neighbourhood is back with its fourth studio album, Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones. Everyone at The Post pride themselves on being able to serve Southeast Ohio and the Athens community. As Ohio University students, we bask in the chance to write about the place, people and things to have so greatly affected our time in college. Nonetheless, I speak for everyone at The Post when I say, running a publication and publishing a weekly paper during a global pandemic isn’t easy.

A college student’s senior year is supposed to be their last chance to make lifelong memories and friendships before they are fully thrust into the adult world. Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the entire world in early spring, life has been altered and subsequently my ideal plans for my own senior year at Ohio University have shifted. Despite that unfortunate shift, I’m determined to make my senior year as memorable as all students deserve.

Though virtual college may be the smartest decision during a global pandemic, that doesn’t make it any easier.

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift is one of the world’s highest-grossing female musicians, and it’s also no secret that over the last decade, Swift’s music has been laced with upbeat and arena worthy pop that begs listeners to dance. Nonetheless, the pop songstress has taken a sidestep away from the bubblegum pop and over to a subdued and folk-nuanced sound with her eighth studio album, Folklore.
