It’s finally that time of year. The hot summer days are giving way to cool fall weather, and our coffee orders are suddenly making the switch from iced to hot. At the same time, we may find ourselves mourning the gradual loss of our tans and anxiously trying to find all the fuzzy sweaters that have since been forgotten. When fall comes knocking on your door, it unapologetically signifies it is time to put away the sandals, the bathing suits, the tanning lotion and embrace the pumpkin spice lattes, the dark color pallet and all the turtlenecks.

Ohio University officially became a smoke-free campus on Aug. 1, 2015, yet using smoking products like cigarettes and e-cigarettes seems to be the norm. Just walking around campus or in between classes, you are bound to see a couple people smoking and even more vaping. Despite being a smoke-free campus, why would students still be using tobacco and vape products?

Kendrick Lamar – arguably the best rapper of this generation – just won a Pulitzer for his 2017 album DAMN. You inevitably had a friend who shared something about it on social media if you aren’t in tune with Pulitzer Prizes. But what’s really cool is that this is the first time a hip-hop album has won. What is even cooler is that this is the first time any genre that isn’t classical or jazz has won.
