From the surreal 90s grunge-esque high school romance that was Death Note to the uncanny valley CGI in the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, Netflix doesn't have a good track record when it comes to live-action adaptations of Japanese animation. Sadly, the 2021 Cowboy Bebop web series follows suit.

Reboots of classic films or franchises often go for viewers’ nostalgia to drive ticket sales, Ghostbusters: Afterlife does much of the same, similar to how Doctor Sleep (the recent sequel to The Shining) did. That’s to say that it provides an original story that is still connected to the original film, but also gives the audience time to get invested in the characters and plot, therefore earning its dose of nostalgia, at least for the most part.

It seems after each season of Netflix’s Big Mouth, Nick Kroll won’t be able to top what he did previously. Season four had one of the funniest episodes in the show’s history with “Cafeteria Girls,” but Kroll wasn’t ready to stop there. He was able to create new storylines, work in more sex-, body- and mental health positive material all while doing what he does best: making the audience burst into laughter. Although it seems to often be overlooked when searching for something to binge-watch, YouTube has always had an astronomical selection of different content creators and channels to choose from. Sometimes it’s easy to get overwhelmed in the abyss that is the recommended section, but you’re bound to find a couple channels that emerge as reliable clicks for a quick video or two or for longer sit downs to unwind after a stressful day.

The etymology of the term “bullpen” in baseball has been widely disputed. It’s been difficult to tie down an original first usage of the word, but it’s likely it was first published in the Cincinnati Enquirer in 1877. In the early 1900s, many baseball fields had ads for Bull Durham Tobacco on their fences. These pitching grounds just past those fences would come to be dubbed the bullpen.
