7Fest sees lower attendance, more entertainment

This past Saturday, about 10,000 students brought coolers, tents, trash cans and kiddie pools filled with alcoholic beverages to a field in Athens to ring in 7Fest, the last fest of the Ohio University school year.

Post Letter: Police justifiably use pictures of Palmerfest

This letter is in response to the article written about police using pictures from Palmerfest to bring students in for questioning. I believe that it is completely understandable that the Athens Police would use pictures as a tool for apprehending students involved in the Palmerfest couch burning. As a student of Ohio University and a student in attendance at the fest, I believe I can offer a valuable point of view on this article.

An Ohio University sorority trashed a West Virginia art center in March, using plates like missiles in food fights, dancing in puddles of alcohol and engaging in sexual activity on a sink, according to a letter sent from the center's director to the president of the chapter.

When it comes to the environment, everyone's got an opinion these days. Wind farms! Nuclear! Clean coal! There's a lively discussion, and why shouldn't there be? It was only a little more than a month ago 29 coal miners died because a mine owner in West Virginia didn't want to discuss safety protocol. As I write this letter, crude oil spews into the Gulf of Mexico because BP didn't want to discuss drilling precautions.

As a disc jockey stood in the middle of the blue-lit stage, a single beam of light underscored his hands as they spun the pulse of the room. The beat shook the floorboards, and Stepping After Dark was underway.
