Oct. 28, a comedic actor and friend passed away. Matthew Perry brought joy to many people's homes. He wanted to be remembered for how much he helped others, but he helped me through his acting. “Friends” got me through middle school and it has been my favorite show since seventh grade. In order to celebrate Perry, aka Chandler Bing, I wanted to reflect on some of Chandler’s best moments and what made him such a wonderful character.

There are many expected Halloween costumes this year due to popular films and trends in pop culture. I am anxiously awaiting to see a combination of one-of-a-kind and to-be-expected costumes this Halloween. From Barbie to Wednesday Addams, I predict there will be many movie characters and pop stars walking the streets of Athens.

Scrolling on TikTok has been a main source of entertainment for me and many others for a few years now. Social media is bound to change over time, but the changes happening now are not my favorite. TikTok is so different than what it used to be with the new TikTok Shop, and I’m not sure it’s a good difference, considering it seems like I am just watching ads for knock-off products. TikTok Shop is and has been changing the app in a weird and negative way.

Kickin’ with Kyra: The Writers Guild of America strike updates and why the strike needs to happen

Los Angeles has a lot happening almost all of the time, but right now Hollywood is on pause. The Writers Guild of America, or WGA, strike began on May 2 due to growth in A.I. technology and what it means for anyone who works in the entertainment industry. Despite the fear and the need for new contracts, nothing is being done to ease these fears. Additionally, there have been controversies surrounding what some celebrities are doing about the issues at hand.

I am a pretty shy person, so college was a huge leap for me when it came to meeting new people in a new environment. When it was time for dorm selection for my freshman year of college, I was highly anxious. My roommate and I went on the housing portal and discovered there were no options for a two-person room. At that point, I had known my future roommate for 15 years, and having to be in a quad really scared me.

Kickin’ with Kyra: ‘Daisy Jones and The Six' is a story told like no other

The novel “Daisy Jones and The Six” by Taylor Jenkins Reid was published in 2019. This year, a television series was released, following the same story as the book and with an entire album accompanying it. Having visuals and true music connected to these characters has brought a whole other level of depth to the story.

Kickin' with Kyra: The new season of 'You' and how the seasons have aligned.

A stalker that doesn’t even admit or understand he is a criminal. The Netflix thriller “You” follows a man named Joe Goldberg, played by Penn Badgley. The story is based on a book by Caroline Kepnes and deals with love, trauma, mental health and crime. The show was first released in September 2018, and part one of the fourth season was just released on Feb. 9. Part two of the season is set to release on March 9, 2023, and it is difficult, even after watching the first part, to predict the direction it will take. Netflix’s social media and the show itself have not held back from showing the cast, new looks and twists via teasers and short clips.
