Over the weekend, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office had multiple encounters which resulted in arrests.
Deputies responded to the area the horse was supposedly in the road but determined the horse was no longer a hazard.

Law enforcement located the vehicle and assisted in redirecting the motorist in a safe manner. Units returned to patrol.
Ohio University’s Athens campus experienced a slight increase of most crimes, excluding burglary and motor vehicle theft.
According to the OUPD report, a large landscaping boulder was displaced.
One vehicle was recovered on scene and returned to the owner. As of Sept. 22, deputies were still in search of the second vehicle.

Two individuals were arrested on active warrants when deputies arrived on scene regarding an unrelated call.

Deputies checked the blanket and found nothing in it.

The man was sitting in the dumpster collecting Valentine’s Day cards.
OUPD wrote in the statement it is “deeply concerned about four recent incidents.”
Deputies did not hear any gunshots.
