In general, the theme of this column is going to be oversaturation or overpopulation, but in relation to two specific things. In the NBA, there’s an incredible density of talent between the 30 teams in the league. In the music industry, there’s new Drake music every season. I’m sick of waiting for both to change at this point, so let’s get into why.

Delilah Brao is a Boston-born and Los Angeles-based indie pop singer/songwriter with a penchant for blunt lyrics and bedroom pop instrumentals. Oct. 27, The Mountain Goats released “Jenny from Thebes,” a sequel album to their largely popular 2002 record “All Hail West Texas.” “Jenny from Thebes” focuses on the titular Jenny, first introduced in a song by the same name. Here, frontman John Darnielle further explores the settings and characters he once left in “All Hail West Texas,” answering the question proposed on the album’s Bandcamp page: “Who is Jenny, really? What is she running from?”

Classic rock listeners are often drawn to the nostalgic, distinguishable sound of rock from before the digital age. Rock 'n' roll 50 years ago was dirty, passionate and most of all, loud. Now, it seems as though that sound is impossible to recreate due to the changes in production technology.

In the past decade, an exceptional familial music group has emerged out of Santiago City, Philippines. 4TH IMPACT, formerly known as 4TH Power, the group is composed of four sisters: Almira, Irene, Mylene and Celina Cercado. The group performed on The X Factor UK in 2015 and earned the status of a Top 5 Finalist. Their time on the show featured a cover of Jessie J’s “Bang Bang,” a rendition that amassed over 190 million views on The X Factor UK’s official YouTube channel.

Drake’s new album was not all bark and no bite as “For all the Dogs” was released Oct. 6. His desire to give his fans new music that resembles his older music from his albums “Thank me Later,” “Take Care” and “Nothing was the Same” was what brought back his R&B style. During his It's All A Blur tour, Drake announced that he was fed up with his fans asking for “that old Drake man,” so he promised to bring the old Drake back to life, doing exactly that.
