Akron Men's soccer coach named US Olympic coach
University of Akron Men's head coach Caleb Porter was recently named head coach of the U-23 United States Men's National team that will compete in next summers Olympics. Olympic qualifying begins next year and if the USMNT qualifies it will only be allowed to put on the roster three overage players, as the Olympics requires the rest of the roster to be at the age of 23 or under.

Toye Famodu was named Scholar Athlete of the Week for her work on the field and in the classroom this week. Famodu has an average of 3.842 G.P.A and is majoring in in Global Studies with a focus in Latin America.
